Artie.

Dear hubs,

Artie loves it when I bake peanut butter doggie treats!
He could hardly wait for them to cool.
The best part of it is

  1. We don't have to buy super expensive dog treats
  2. The recipe is super easy and makes at least 2 dozen!

Definitely going to keep making these.

run for the hills!

Dearest Arti,

Your flatulence is like that of burning sewage.
An odor so horrifically pungent that it makes onions cry.
A stench so rank that it kills any forms of life, including bacteria.
Just thought I'd let you know what toxic fumes your releasing into our atmosphere.
Love your humans

Dog puke

Dear my red-headed lover,

Do you know what make a puppy vomit almost instantly?
Homemade sweet and sour chicken.
Thats what.

I was listening to Fleetwood Mac while preparing your dinner (yes, I was dancing) I guess I got a little to into what I thought was a stage worthy performance of my fav song and a chunk of chicken flew across the room.
Of course Artie's food radar went haywire and he basically sprinted over and gobbled up the hot piece of chicken before I could even say NO!
Minutes later I hear him coughing and gagging.
Grrrreeeaaat.
Six huge steamy piles of puppy vomit awaiting for me.

But on the bright side the Sweet and Sour chicken recipe is delish and wont make humans vomit (if cooked right of course)
And now Artie is cuddled up right next to me watching me type :)
Love your brown headed lover

Dear husband,

Artie. Just. Saved. My. Life.

Picture this.
I was doing dishes at around 10:30pm.
Artie assumed his usual position (laying right beside me).
Then!
I was cleaning off the counters and went to pick up a stale washcloth to throw in the hamper
when all of a sudden a giant arachnid fell out of it!
It gnashed it's fangs and wiggle about in a puddle on the counter.
I freaked (of course)
Pointed! EEKed! and maybe almost started to cry.
When all of a sudden, Artie stood on his two hind leg, saw the ferocious beast wiggling around and licked him right up.
Usually your there to be my knight and shinning armor. But just when I though Artie was a dumb cardboard eating dog who wakes up at 6am he proved himself to be a protector. So know worries.
Artie's got my back while your away.

This dog is the equivalent of Lassie to me.

Workin' for the man

Dear hubs,

I've come to the conclsion that if I don't have homework or some sort of project to work on, my nights are dreadfully boring without you here.
It kinda stinks that you work from 3-11pm every weeknight.

Tonight Artie and I...

Cuddled up in a blanket and watched an episode of Gilmore Girls.
then we took a 2 hour nap (he's a couch hog, so booted him to the floor).
then we attempted to scrapbook but someone cough:artie:cough insisted on trying to eat the paper and glue. So that was a bust.
Then we played with the life-cereal box until he started gaging on the cardboard chunks.
Then I did dishes and to spite me, Artie decided to lick my feet (and you know how much that grosses me out)
Then I made cookies and watched Artie try to shove 2 tennis balls in his mouth.
Now I'm listening to Elton and writing this post while Artie runs his nightly laps around the apartment!
We had a... well... relaxed night. Well I did anyway, Artie's still running laps.

Can't wait till your home!

Jail

Look what we got....!

Isn't it fabulous??
And no. I don't trap the hubby in there.
In this picture Scott was showing Artie that his kennel, aka jail, is a friendly happy place to be.
We absolutely love it!
He sleeps better, we don't have to worry about him escaping his leash and chewing up my unmentionables
annnnd
the best part of all is that we call it jail!
so when it's time for bed we say
"Atrie! Go to jail!!"
and he'll hope right in the kennel and sit.
It's a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

Fall weekend!

Fall is here!
To celebrate we went to Beaver Dick park(beautiful park, unfortunate name)

We brought along some family, friends and dogs.

The colors we're perfect.
The day was perfect!
well.. except for when a squirrel bit Artie in the lip…. As you can imagine, it wasn't pleasant. And we now think he has a fear of small furry animals.
But besides that little incident it was still a blast though!

Heh heh

Dear hubby,
I love Artie but... lately.. well..he's been a royal pain.

Today he...
-Thought the school newspaper sucked (as most of us do) and decided to eat it.
-Artie's tummy didn't like it so he threw it up.
-Then he re-ate the barf before I had time to react. (I almost puked myself seeing him do this)
Then...
-Artie decided that It was a waste of time to allow me to do homework.
-So he persistently tried to bite my fingers while I was typing up a paper.
-He also tried to jump in my lap a few hundred times (he's to uncoordinated so half the time he fell on his back.)
-annnd he would try to bite the pages of my nutrition book every time I turned a page.

I then took his advice(to stop doing hw) and went to the gym to blow off some stress (he was currently a major stressor, which is so kind of him)

I came home from the gym and found he..
-Loves microbiology so much that he chewed the corner of the book cover off. He's obviously very involved in his reading.
-He also likes to snoop and chewed on some important papers/memories that he some how reached. He must secretly be a ninja because those were on the 3rd shelf.
-Then i guess he was jealous of the hubs and decided to chew a few pages of his amazing flip book he made for me. (I was uber tick at this one)
-Oh! And he lllllooooves burts bees chapstick! He went through a tube in one day. And now has minty breath.

I then sat down to try to accomplish some homework, but he wanted to play and started to train for his agility obstacle course competition. He ran laps around the house at record breaking speeds for about 10 minutes straight.
Thats when I snapped. My neck tweaked and my eye started to twitch uncontrollably. The stress that I have been trying to keep under control finally went through the roof.
My mondays exams. My program development project and my Research paper all caught up to me. Was I to get anything done?
Artie was the straw that broke the camels back.
I dragged him to the bathroom, locked him in and then broke down.
We're so not ready for kids.
I can barley handle a dog.
Love your super-stressed-out-trying-to-stay-positive wife

p.s I love Artie. He's a typical puppy.

Sock.

Last Saturday we went to Target and picked up some new socks!
Our sock population has plummeted at rapid rates since we've been married.
Who knows where they go! But I was down to 3 socks. Yes 3. I usually wear my Tevas to class but I need Need NEED socks to work-out in every day, so I alternated the 3 pathetic socks till laundry day.
So yay! We got new socks!

Yesterday I was doing a bit of cleaning while the Hubs worked. I re-organized our closet, folded laundry, took down our fort (frown), re-

organized our guest room and dusted.
All was dandy!
Till...I had discovered one of my socks was miss

ing it's mate!
How could this be?!?! Were did it go?!? What will I do?!?
After questioning my sanity (for worrying this much about socks) I pulled myself together and thought its probably running loose in one of our drawers.
That night I was working on homework as always and the hubs was finishing up some work related stuff.
Artie was very gassy that night and was tootin

g the smelliest toots my nose has ever smelt. (and that means a lot coming from my family)
To prevent us from being gassed out of our house I opened the front door to let a crisp breeze in.
Artie (out if excitement) stood up and headed for the do

or and then heaved. Not only did he barf once but he barfed twice in a matter of seconds. 2 huge piles of nasty steaming on our carpet.
AND! whats worse, is he started to gobble the nasty right back up as if he hadnt eaten all day!
The hubs tackled him and put him on his leash then proceeded to clean it up.
After some examination of the vomit he found some pebbles, lots and lots of grass and a SOCK!!

Yippee! We found the sock!
we examined what we could of the saturated sock and made a firm diagnosis that he did in fact eat one of my new socks.
Unfortunately, it was unsalvageable (if you could only imagine)
Arite proceeds to be super gassy unfortunately.

Artie

This is Artigus.
He's named after a Uruguayan George Washington. Husband suggested it and I agreed only if we could nickname him Artie.
We ended up just calling him Artie because the name fit so well!

He's 5 months and is currently teething. So yes. Lots of chewing.
Don't be fooled by his innocent puppy face.
He's sort of a hand full.
For example This morning Artie kept chewing on everything and when we say everything we mean EVERYTHING.
Carpet, toes, counters, couch, pens, hands, hair, cords, ankles, heater and paper. Basically anything in his reach.
So we though it would be best for him (and for our sanity) if he ran around outside on his very long leash. We both needed to get things done and he was creating stress. So! outside he went! Well, he started to chew on the sidewalk. Yes the concrete sidewalk.
So we said Artie No! and he stopped.
Then he moved on to the tree...and then the grass...., then chased down a few leafs blowing around and then decided to dig to China.
That was a big no no. So he came back inside and slept.
We're praying his teeth come in soon.
Like really really soon.
Love husband and wife
